This is a Victorian remedy that actually works. Take a piece of cotton or flannel 3-4†wide and long enough to go around your neck. Spread cold lard sprinkled with ground nutmeg on the middle of it and wrap round your neck. Leave overnight. Messy but effective
Use Betadine Garlegle soon as youfeel a scratch or tickle. If you're prone to colds and the flu which start with a sore throat, carry the small undiluted Betadine Gargle in your bag & always travel with it so you can go to the ladies' room to gargle immediately. I can stop 29/30 sore throats from becoming a cold by doing this.
This is MAGIC!! At least it seems like it to me.
Eat a bit of blue (mouldy) cheese. Doesnt matter which kind but the stronger and mouldier the better. It works instantly.
Bizzare but true!
Eat 7 or 8 whole black pepper by chewing n drink black tea without adding milk after it. Do this three times a day .you will start feeling better in first day.It always work for me,hope it's gonna work for you too.
Have two spoonfulls of Buttercup Syrup (found pretty much Everywhere!)
in the morning, half way through the day and before bed.
Spoonfulls of honey when you're throat feels raw.
Drink plenty of milk.
Wear a warm scalf all day.
Talk minimum.
Rest your voice and drink whiskey, a bit old school I know but it really does cure sore throats!! If it doesn't work at least you'll be too drunk to notice the pain lol!!
Dissolve some soluble aspirin in water and use as a gargle, which you can then swallow. Attacks the pain from two directions!
Don't use this solution for children.
Have a curry as hot as you can stand. Chili is a 'dèsengorgeant' (i.e. diminishes swelling) and an antiseptic. This is the ultimate solution, and is effective immediately. NB the chili or curry powder must be fried for one minute before adding garlic, ginger, onions etc. and whatever else you put in - meat, bouillon, yoghourt - to make it fully effective. Or go to an Indian restaurant.
