If the dress is low cut or if it is stappy then don't do it - it will probably look a bit much. If the dress is very simple with a pretty conservative neckline then fishnets could be just the lift it needs. I definitely subscribe to the golden rule that you should only poke out of one end of your outfit so - strappy or low cut top means jeans or longer skirt, short skirt means higher neckline. It's fine to be daring as long as you only do it in one direction.

if you are conscious that you may look slutty in this outfit then i would recommend keeping the rest of you quite low key, i.e. simple make up and hair. i personally have worn mini skirts with fishnets and boots, but the place/occasion that you are wearing them to is also important. good for evenings out, not so good for family visits and in the daytime etc. overall make sure you feel comfortable, if you're not, it will show when you are out

You can get nude-coloured fishnets, which are funky but a bit less full-on than black. I think a wrapover dress, fishnets and boots is a pretty stylish look.
