    as opposed to phoning you or face to face? if you would prefer her to phone you, it may be that it is the cost element of it that puts her off and makes her text/email instead. on the other hand if you would prefer her to tell you these important things face to face, it is more likely to be time contraints that make her more inclined to text/email. depending how close the two of you are, it may just be that it is easier and less time consuming to contact you the way she does. you could always try phoning her more often and then she may reciprocate

    I have to confess that I am absolutely rubbish at talking on the phone! Get me face to face and I'll talk the hind leg off you, but I find it really difficult to hold a lengthy conversation without visual contact. My mates laugh at me and say if it wasn't for email and texting, I'd have no friends left! What I'm saying is that it's not that I can't be bothered with my friends - I think the world of them - but phone conversations are not something I'm that comfortable with. Try not to take it personally, she may just be as socially inept as me!
