When you rinse the conditioner out of your hair in the shower, really rub your scalp to ensure that the conditioner is not sitting on the roots of your hair. Don't concern yourself with rinsing the ends -- they do that on their own, and most ends can use a little extra product. After the shower, apply a creamy leave-in conditioner ONLY to the bottom half of your hair (Graham Webb Silk Protein is a great one). When you put conditioner at the roots it weighs your hair down and can make you flat on top. Balance your hair's volume by putting the conditioning weight at the ends.
I find my hair looks best when I leave in some of the conditioner(don't rinse it out completely). Have tried most brands and find that Pantene Products work best for this type of hair.
Try a deep condition like an olive oil wrap.
Wash your hair quickly and towel dry. Don't worry about cleaning it too much as the goal is to remove grease and product on the hair.
Get a tablespoon of olive oil and rub into the ends of the hair. Repeat with the lenght. When you get to the roots, if you have an oily scalp don't apply any oil to the roots. Otherwise apply no more than a teaspoon.
Wrap your hair in a plastic bag, and wrap your hair and the bag into a 'turban' with an old thick towel.
Leave for as long as possible. About an hour would be great.
Wash your hair as normal, but in order to remove all oil residue wash it twice. Condition as normal!
When you apply conditioner, start at the ends and massage it in with your hands. When you start at the roots and comb it through you always have too much on top and not enough on the bottom.
Sometimes I rub olive oil into the ends first before I apply conditioner. Its also good to use a leave in conditoner at night on the ends. Also loook for conditioners without alcohol.
