Here's my go-to, fail-safe chocolate glaze. you can drizzle it over cookies in a series of stripes, or pour it over any plain cake to dress it up and "chocolatize" it. It couldn't be simpler.
Over low heat, just melt together 1 part cream (heavy or light, doesn't matter) with 2 parts chocolate (dark, milk, doesn't matter). Whisk occasionally as it melts, and whisk thoroughly at the end. You can eat the dessert you use it on right away, or wait for it to set. This glaze dries to a sumptuous, glossy sheen and beautifully dresses up almost any dessert.
