Instead of using expensive cosmetic blotting papers to get that matt look, try a Rizla cigarette paper. They do exactly the same thing and are much cheaper!
I hate that. I have quite oily skin too and I hate it when it goes really shiney.
There are now wee sheets which (it sounds disgusting!) absorbs the oil from your face. You just gently wipe your face with it. They are really small and easily fit in your hand-bag.
Instead of spending a fortune on blotting paper, just use toilet seat covers instead! they're made from exactly the same stuff and you can get them free from public toilets. as recommended from tyra banks and sarah jessica parker ;)
find a good oil free moisturiser. a french brand called sothys (www.sothys.fr) can be found on ebay or in salons, see website for stockists has 2 brilliant moisturisers. Hydra matt fluid is for very oily skin, i used it for around 2 months, worked brilliantly. then you can move onto active cream. feels like a really rich moisturiser when you put it on but keeps shine at bay, brilliant!
also, after applying foundation use translucent face powder and simply top up during the day when shine appears
Lancome has a fantasic range called pure focus they have a under makeup base and it is sooooo fabulous i have a oily t-zon and i swear by it yu dnt even have to ue tos silly swotting sheets throughout the day it stays put shine free! Its FAB!
xo
Hope this helps!
I tried lots of shine-free moisturisers and found they made me even shinier, while the oil absorbing sheets only worked for an hour or so. Now I use Boots No 7 shine free make up base (comes in a white tube, about £9) which you can put on before make up or on its own, it works really well and lasts about 8 hrs. I use it every day and would definitely recommend it.
I completely agree with the tip on No 7 Shine Free Make Up Base. It's extremely effective and I use it everyday. I find I have to reapply every few hours on persistant shiny areas (like my nose) to keep it totally shine free but the tube lasts forever.
