I spent my 30th with a group of folks that I hadn't seen in years. It happened purely by accident - I was celebrating with a few friends at a Mexican restaurant and some people that I hadn't seen in years arrived to have dinner. They sat with us and we had a great time catching up and drinking margaritas.
If you can find folks that you haven't seen in awhile, look them up and invite them to celebrate your birthday with you.
Run away for the big day! I was dreading turning 30, so I planned a trip to NYC with my Mom and sister. We had such an amazing time. Celebrating somewhere away from my life allowed me to let go of all my hang-ups. And 30 has been nothing but great so far!
Just think of all the things you have at 30 that you didn't have at 20... Taking into consideration, friends, confidence, career not to mention the material things if are lucky enough to have your own car, house etc.. and if you ae in a secure happy relationship thats a bigger bonus..and of course kids..Makes me glad to be 35,
Send to your favorite charity. Then go and do something for yourself, like a spa day or shopping spree. Before midnight make a list of 30 things that you like about yourself.
Surround yourself with great friends and loved ones. The run up to my 30th was pretty traumatic, I left my fiance and our life together and moved out of our home. The night of my 30th helped me put everything in perspective, I invited lots of friends, old and new and booked a private room in a very nice bar for about 35 of us, we had some mexican food and danced till the place closed at 3am. It was my friends all being there having a great time that made me realise how lucky I was, my 30's have been a blast ever since.
