Skin quality does come down mostly genetics; the way your skin reacts to the environment. But there are some things that greatly help things.
- Lots of fruit and veg, the brightly coloured ones like carrots, tomatoes, peaches, berries, red grapes.
I try and hit 6-8 a day, I make smoothies with a hand blender, grate a couple carrots into a pasta sauces. Apples for mid morning.
- Water 1.5-2 (depending on your size).
- Fish is good, couple of times a week, salmon, trout, mackerel.
- Sleep; 7-8 hours a day, if not, aim for 1 good nights sleep a week.
- exercise, sweating helps clear the pores
- Stay away from tanning beds, try not to get too much sun a little is ok, it helps activate the skins defences and boost vitamin D.
- don't smoke.
Probably all obvious ones, but I live by these, rarely do I feel that I've got "bad" skin.
