We are all a bit obsessed with looking perfect and having the latest thing, yet personal debt is higher than ever.
Try and get into the mindset of properly considering every purchase- do you REALLY love the item or are you buying it because it's a bargin, how often will you wear it and do you have clothes it will go with? Don't buy it there and then, if you keep thinking about it save the money up and then get it. Better to buy one top you adore for £60 than 4 tops for £20 that you wear twice.
When staples like white vests and good fitting jeans start to wear then get a new pair or you will look scruffy.
Develop your own personal style and stick to it, that way you won't buy into every fleeting fashion that comes along. Thats what the highstreets want- your money!
I have this issue!! I know I have to many clothes when I can't fit all of my clothes in my closet and all my drawers. If this is the case, like it is for me, then it's time to give some clothes to good will, or sell them at a consignment shop!!
hope this helps!!!
When you have more than one item for each day of the week you know you have too much.
I have over 70 handbags and it was when i realized some of them still had tags on them ,i realized i had too many.
You can never have too many clothes!!!
I try going through my wardrobe every couple of months and having a clear out. Any clothes I haven't worn for a while I either pull to the front so I will wear it soon or bin it if I don't think I will. I also try clothes on while doing this just to check they still fit!
I agree, you can never have too many clothes as you never know when fashions might come back around.
I do tend to go through my wardrobe now and again though and try on the clothes I haven't worn for a while as a lot of them don't fit anymore and I do sometimes think why did I wear that, then I know it can go out!!
Try going through all your clothes every 3 mnths and just getting rid of things you know you will never fit into/think is stylish again. But don't just throw clothes away for the sake of it as you might regret it!!
My uncle is a model and he has more clothes than me! and I use to run a very successful designer store. But every 3 months check, if you haven't worn something in over 6 months, or it doesnt fit, get rid! I always keep my basics what never go out of fashion, thats jeans, white/black tshirt/vests, if you go shopping and see a pair of really high shoes you admire, don't buy them, I do that alot and I end up wearing most of them once on a night out and never again because my feet hurt for a week afterwards, after trying to walk in them! Same goes for clothes, if you're only buying it cos it goes with one item, dont bother. I agree with the lady what said rather buy one £60 what goes with everything instead of 4 for £20 you might only wear once
