Normally when you smile, your eyes crinkle. To avoid that in a photo, purposefully open your eyes a bit wider (but remember, you're not going for a "deer in a headlight" look), and when you smile, let your mouth open a little bit.
To have a little fun and prep for a glam picture, practice photo poses in front of mirror
or one night at home take many test shots with a digital camera.
Look down the lens of the camera as if you are looking at your lover and you want to make passionate love to them. Do this with a smilea and you won't look like a porn star
put your hand on your hip - makes you hips look smaller and your arm look thinner. Too often with your arm squashed to the side, it will look fatter than it really is!
When posing for a photo - stick out your neck it will help to hide a double chin. I know it sounds silly but it really does work and no one will notice (especially if they are sticking their neck out as well)
Stand at an angle with your head tilted slightly, one arm and one foot forward. Hold your shoulders back, chest out, neck lenthened upwards and smile for the camera!
Haha!! My pic on here is like a proper myspace pose lol! I find the best photos are always natural, don't stress about posing as it will show! The best pics taken of me are usually random drunk pics!
Turn your body to a 45 degree angle to the camera, then turn your neck so that your face is towards the camera. Place one foot slightly in front of the other, with that leg bent slightly at the knee. Lift your chin just a little bit, and smile!
If you're being posed with someone you dislike, or your hair/clothes/makeup are horrible, don't try to get out of it--just close your eyes. Most people won't keep, or pass on, those pictures.
tilt your chin slightly down, and make sure whoever is taking the photo to be level with you or above. As photos taking from underneath make the face/body look larger.
First things first. You want the light directly on you, because if the lighting's bad, the photo will be bad. & don't let models in magazines make you feel bad. Photographers air-brush them on computers to make them look better any way. Don't where tons of make-up as it can make you look a bit over done. And finally, SMILE! There's no use wasting time with sour faces!
Hope this helps! =) x
Wear quite a bit of make up. Not garish colours unless that's your thing, but for photos in general, highlight your features as much and as naturally as possible.
if you are standing then turn your hips slightly and put one foot slightly in front of the other - it will slim down your hips.
If you are sitting, put your hands together and then straighten your arms out in front of you, and place your hands on your lap by your knees - it will slim down your torso.
Not just your face but your whole body should be turned to the side - think how Posh Spice and all those on the red carpet stand. Put the tip of your tongue up behind your top teeth as you smile - believe me I know these tips work!
My daughter-in-law Maxine gave me some good advice - if you're not happy with your tummy area and you're having a photograph taken with your partner put your arms around their waist and conceal a third of your body behind theirs - makes you look like a loving couple and hides the wobbly bits!
Great tip. To add to this, if the photographer counts one, two, three, smile on the count of two. Your smile will look more natural and less frozen or fake.
haha! i no what you mean about the myspace poses! always apply lipgloss before a pic is taken. the light will reflect of your gloss and make your lips look fuller
When taking self protraits of me and my friends, I usually take them from a high angle, looking directly into the camera. This hides any wobbly chins..
