The general rule is that if your skin is doing just fine on it´s own then make your beauty routine as simple as possible. Keep it clean and moisturised and only add more aggressive treatments when it looks like you need them.
I'm in my 40's and would be horrified if I thought I needed such treatment, now or later - forget it! I have been told that I do look younger than my age and I think its due to never having used tons of make up, never having smoked, moisturising twice daily, drinking lots of water, having enough sleep and spending lots of time outdoors. Keep your peels, whether in your 20's, 30's, or 'ancient' 40's +, you don't need them if you just follow a good, basic skin care regime.
There's a great book out there by Dr Daniel Yarosh called The New Science of Perfect Skin. Dr Yarosh is a biochemist specialising in dermatology he formulates skin care for such brands as Este Lauder and L'Oreal and is considered a bit of a guru. In chapter 1 he explains different needs of your skin at the different stages of your life, you can read it here: (http://www.randomhouse.com/broadway/catalog/display.pperl?isbn=9780767925396&view=excerpt)
I found it very useful. It's very individual but I do a mini-peel at home - Dermatologic Clinical Resurfacing Kit (http://www.beautyisskindeep.com/217_dermatologic_200652.html). I was advised to use it to improve my 30 years old skin with enlarged pores, acne scars, sun damage and adult acne.
