I use Vaseline to cure any rough spots on my feet and my elbows. If not, I use the Jergens brand of moisturizer and it smells great and moisturizes my dry skin
Don't know where I read this years ago but it certainly works. If your skin is dry (especially winter legs), after bathing or showering massage liquid paraffin on your skin (most chemists have it). Its an ingredient in lots of skin creams and this is the only one you really need. Soft paraffin is also brilliant for cradle cap.
Mix Garam Flour (chick pea flour - really cheap from most supermarkets or Asian Shops) with honey to a thick paste. Apply to areas needed especially good for face leave for at least 5 mins and wash off. It's brilliant but so is just slavering honey all over your face and leaving for 5 mins - messy but really good.
I recommend almond oil for moisturising face and body cheaply. Its available in health food shops and as its fragrance free it won't overpower your perfume. It's also great mixed with oats for a face scrub, essential oils for massage or with other oils so you can custom-make a mositurising oil to suit you. Its also suitable for sensitive skin. It truly is an all-purpose oil; I wouldn't be without it!
When I shower, I always use at least once a week, baby oil (also doubles up as a brilliant shaving oil) and exfoliate, and after the shower, moisturise with body butter with as little alcohol in it as you can find.
