Think of it as an opportunity for complete rest and total lack of responsibility: the only decision you'll be allowed to make is whether to have tea or cocoa! Take a few of your favourite CDs, a couple of rivetting talking books and something easy to use with earphones to play them on. Take a pad and pencil for writing things that seem important so you won't have to fuss about remembering them.

Make sure you add extra pajamas, underwear (for the trip home) and some beauty products, like night moisturizer, facial mask, adn a tinted moisturizer for when you have visitiors or if your doctor is a hot as the ones on t.v. Also pack emergancy numbers for people who can check up on thing that think you have forgotten at home or work. Remember your mind will wonder and you're sure to imagine that you left the gas on or the window open. It may be wise to appoint a friend to screen calls or relay information so your spouse doesn't go home to an overload of "how is she calls" on the answereing machine.

the most important thing is food. believe me, hospital food is manky and it made me sick, bring some healthy snacks and some treats to brighten your day. if realavtives ask if youwant anything ask for fruit so you dont dehydrate and bring cordials and squashes. also bring your fave book and loads of magz because your friends and family cant be sitting by you for the whole of your hospital stay.!
