I highly recommend a cream called Sudocrem. It's actauly a nappy rash cream but it's great for clearing up spots or acne. Put on a thin layer at night and you'll notice a big difference in only a few days. It costs a couple of pounds for a big pot. You'll find it in the baby section of most supermarkets and in Boots.

How to clear up spots

Try ProActiv, I have been using this product for 3years and I can not believe how clear my skin is. ProActiv isn't just for those with really bad acne. it is for all skin types. I am not going to lie to you and tell you that you skin will clear up in two days or two weeks. But you do give it time (2 months tops) you WILL see a wonderfull difference.

Before you go to bed every night try washing your face, moisturising, then putting a layer of sudocrem over your whole face, this can be quite drying for your skin so make sure you do moisturise regularly but it is a brilliant way of soothing & stopping spots forming.

Ask your doctor, there could be a medical reason that your acne won't clear up.

Not overly helpful I know but if you know someone going to the USA get them to bring back some Johnson's Clean & Clear Persa-Gel10. It contains something called 10% benzoyl peroxide which is normally only available on prescription. It is amazing. I never found anything here that works as quickly.

Go to the doctors! I hate the doctors, but they gave me a gel and tablets (if your not good with tablets you can you other opinions) My face is much clearer, and I have had what the doctor subscribed for less a week! Solved all my problems!

This tip was a serendipitous discovery. 5 days before my wedding i had a premenstrual breakout and had the mother of all spots on my chin. I had tried prescription things and sudocrem etc nothing worked previously so in desperation I tried a dabbing it with strong wart (salicylic acid) liquid-it looked worse for 12 hours but was gone by wedding - skin was perfect! This was the first time i got rid of a spot before period came! Please take great care when applying as will burn surrounding skin!!!

sudocrem is honestly like a miracle cream! just a small amount and rub in quite well, though best to use it in the evening perhaps before bed as unless ages is spent rubbing it in it can leave a white film kind of thing. dries up spots really quickly, i use it as a moisturiser once a week or so and my skin is so much better!

Use uncoated aspirin. Place about 4 to 5 tablets in a small container. Mix with about a teaspoon of warm water to create a paste. Apply to skin. Let dry for about 15-20mins. When removing, lightly rub the skin (exfoliate) in a circular motion until product is removed. Rinse with warm water. Baby soft skin. Cost less than .00. Use this to also dry out pimples individually. PS. This is very drying to the skin. Be sure to tone and moisturize. Do not overuse. Once a week is perfect.

Blackheads - Fill your sink up with boiling hot water and hang your head infront of the sink (close to the water, hair tied back tightly) and stay there for as long as you can stand, then drain the water (tie string to the plug so as not to burn hands) Then use an exfoliant on the face, and scrub thoroughly, then wash off with luke-warm water, then use cold water then pat dry. Don't scrub. For spots - Apply toothpaste to the spot, and leave on for half an hour, letting it dry it out. Then wash off, dry, and apply T.C.P, no such thing as too much. Before bed, in the morning. No more spot! (The steaming of the face opens the pours and softens you're skin and works a bloody well wonder!) (T.C.P also softens lips, cures mouth ulcers, and spots.)

i self prescribed this product after milling around treatments for Acne... try some benzyl peroxide from Boots available in 2.5 , 5 and 10 strengths. Start with the 2.5 strength first. You do have to be careful with the peroxide bleaching your sheets but if done in the morning b4 applying your make up rather than a night treatment it should be fine. After spending hundreds on products and trying dozens, at £4 it's a steal! it stops pimples from forming and dries up long standing ones. Use a neutral moisturiser afterwards.

Detoxing can cause a bit of a break out for some people...I have suffered from atrocious acne on back, face, arm and chest since I was 11 and it has improved with age and Roaccutane treatment, but the best thin I have ever used is Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. You can it on HQhair.com. its a weird pinky lotion that loks like calamine and you use a cotton bud to apply it. And it clears them like a dream, even those nasty under-the-skin ones that hurt and hurt and don't do anything! I love it so much I want to stand in the street preaching of its wonders to passers-by!

Every night for a week, boil up water and add ALOT of salt. Stir in the salt. Get some cotton wool, dip it in the mixture, and hold the cotton wool on all your spots. When the water has cooled down, pour all the water all over your face and leave to dry. Then moisturise. The salt is great to clean, purify and dry up all your spots.

Frador - originally a ulcer treatment - is a great quick fix spot treatment! It drys them out super fast (available at all good pharmacies!) to leave you looking great for that saturday night out!

Freederm is the best spot cream I've ever used. I don't get a lot of spots, just the occasional monster, and Freederm tends to get rid of it almost overnight. Best bit is there's no redness or itching as you often get with other spot creams.

I have spent years and trucks of money trying to obtain clear skin. The following formula has worked for me for the past 3 months:- Superdrug Clarity cleanser Nivea Visage cleanser with AHAs Lush Imperialis moisturiser If i want more moisture I use another cream on top of the lush one. Each product is good on its own, but the combination is really good

I swear by Dalacin T topical solution from my GP. Paulas Choice BHA products Rose Oil Evening Primrose Oil also works if you take between 4,000mg and 7,000mg a day for acne and hormonal spots.

I've had adult acne as long as I can remember. However, after a visit to a dermatologist I've discovered cosmeceuticals (cosmetics potent with active ingredients usually designed by dermatologists). I use cleansers packed with AHA and these have not only rid me of spots but also over time improved the appearance of scars and pigmentation from previous breakouts and made my skin look brand new. My cousin got really bad acne, and she used a product called freederm, which contains anti-inflamitory and cleared he skin up amazingly well, i now use it and it is a god send! if you see a spot forming just put a dab on, it is a little expensive at nine quid a tube but very very good

use a muslin cloth and very hot water along with a good cleanser to clean you face. if you have a bump coming to the surface, gently rub the top of the spot after cleansing with a cloth to take off the top and gently squeeze. dab the opening with hydrogen peroxide, about 80p for a big bottle at the chemist. go to the doctor and get on dianette pills, they are amazing. don't use moisturiser or make up on broken out skin, just let it breathe and heal. keep your make up brushes, face cloths, hands, pillowcases, hair - everything that thouches you face - clean! drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep. don't sqeeze to shallow, you'll end up pushing the infection deeper, and wrap your finger tips in clean tissue before you squeeze, this will stop germs and stop your finger slipping.

Before you go buy acne creams or anything - look at your brushes. If they’re dirty they could be causing the problem. Wash them often.

I often find something with tea tree oil works basically everytime. Also never break the spot, apparently that's worse for you if you do that as it gives you a far higher chance of scarring, obviously all of us find this can't always be avoided. If you have been left with a scab leave it to air as much as possible! No concealer! it makes it more visible and I've noticed from others not just me they often get infected again if you do that

I get only a few spots, around my period. I found a HUGE difference when i cut back on dairy. I still consume some, mostly cheese, only once a week or so. it's not easy, but the less dairy i have, the less often i get huge, painful, subcutaneous pimples! I have heard this also works for people hwo have quite a lots of acne on their cheeks- try it for 2 weeks and see if it helps!!

Ooh also when you have a bath add some sea salt in it, this dries up spots, but again make sure you moisturise like mad!!

White, hard pimples are called millia and they are the easiest thing to get rid of - it’s just hardened sebum. Take a needle dipped in TCP and just scratch a hot crossed bun shape, lift from underneath and it will pop out.

it could be from food. eating greasey foods can cause out breaks or a food allergy. also level of stress can cause outbreaks to. maybe yoga or breathing methods. i assume that you wash your face and still hasnt stop and thats why you asked. maybe you need a different kind of face wash.

I recently had a facial and complained that I had religiously been using an expensive face cleaner and exfoliator but my skin was just not improving. My skin is rather oily in the T-zone but dryer on my cheeks. She she recommended to me to simply remove my make up with Johnson's babywipes - after 3 days of using them I could definitely see a difference. She claimed that it is something to do with the pH balance of the skin (could be wrong there girls though, sorry!). Not only is it MUCH cheaper, it really has worked and I definitely recommended it to anyone. Always use a good moisturiser afterwards though - I use an Origins one which is not too greasy and I love it. Hope this helps!

I had a massive spot on my shoulder the other day and everything was rubbing it causing it to really hurt. I put a plaster and some savalon on it to stop things agrivating it, I couldn't believe it when I had took it off the spot had practically gone! All the money I spend on lotions & potions and a simple plaster & savalon do the trick better!

I'm 27 and still suffer with spots which are worse at certain times of the month. After years of trying tons of products I've found Akmicare FP - which do a really good range of make up, cleansers and clearing gel. They've worked really well for me - although I do still get the occassional spots!

Applying toothpaste can work wonders, but make sure you DO NOT USE a whitening toothpaste! This is very important because the bleach in whitening products will burn your skin and make you wish you had left your zits alone and braved the regular blemish. I once applied a whitening toothpaste to my whole chin and was left with ugly gray scorch marks that didn't go away for a couple months! If you are desperate and want your pimples dried up asap, use regular toothpaste.

Clearasil Daily Spot Control Deep Clean Cleanser is the most effective non-prescription cure for acne, I have found it really good (splash it on morning and evening...there is a sensitive one that won't dry your skin too much). If it's really bad though, do go to the doctor and get a prescription, you will feel so much better! Also try to avoid greasy food.

A combination of Neutrogina Deep Clean facial scrub, Quinodean Acne Cream (spelling could be a bit dodgy but it comes in a purple packet) have worked wonders for me. I have also started using Bio-Oil to try and reduce some of the scars and redness left from the spots and so far it seems to be making quite a difference. I got all of these from Boots and they are not too expensive. The Quinodean one is simply amazing!

I use that quinodean (purple packet) spot cream and it is so good! My spots go down so fast when i use it; though if you over use it, it can dry out your skin. Apparently any cream with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid in them are also good.
