Try sugaring. The hair doesn't have to be as long as to wax and you don't have to heat it up. Sugar or wax the parts of your body you can easily reach (upper lip, underarms, legs) and get a professional to do the tricky spots like upper legs and bikini.
Unless you are not at all hairy, waxing is best. shaving and creams need doing much more frequently. I have a home waxer and rather enjoy doing my own legs at home, but before going on holiday a professional waxing is advisable. Personally I think hot wax, rather than strip waxing, is best - it seems to last longer.
If you have pale skin and dark hair you're perfect candidate for laser hair removal. It's not painful, it doesn't mark the skin and it's permanent. There is a much cheaper and more convenient option to salon treatment - a home use laser hair removal system called Tria. It's a handheld device that you can use in the comfort of your own home. I bought mine at www.beautyisskindeep.com £100 below RRP. It’s pricey but even at £600 it's pretty cost effective as it works out at about 25 salon full-leg waxes. Now that i'm hair free I'm loaning it to my friends for a small fee, by the time everyone is done with it and I put in on eBay I'll be quids in. :-)
It's down to personal choice really. I used to go for a bikini and under arm wax regularly but, in the summer I changed back to shaving under arms. With waxing you have to wait until the hair is long enough to be waxed so it's not that great in the summer. Its great if you have thick dark hair and shaving doesn't really work for you. I use hair removal cream on my bikini line as I get a rash if I shave. I do wax my legs now and again but generally shave them every day in the shower.
This is a difficult one as you want to refrain from shaving as you dont want stubble!but waxing is possibly the only option for long lasting results. when i say waxing i mean the real sticky type as not sure if ready made 'immac' waxes do the trick. by waxing your taking the hair out from the root so the theory is over the course of time the hairs become permanantly reduced in appearance- the more you wax!hope this helps.
Nair is a great alternative to shaving. It's not painful like getting a wax, but gives you pretty much the same results. You just rub the lotion on, let it sit for the number of minutes indicated on the bottle, and wash it off. Your legs will stay hair-free (not even any stubble) for at least a week.
Um it depends where this embarrassing body hair is!!
Face=either have it waxed off or get it bleached (with special bleach....not the stuff under the sink!!)
armpits=if is grows back quickly from shaving, waxing is your best alternative
legs and bikini=wax wax and wax again. it may be painful but it is worth it!! you aren't left with stubble just smoothness!
Have you tried to pluck the hair out with a pair of tweezers? It depends on where the hair is and how much of course but for the odd one or two stray hairs plucking should solve the problem, temporarily at least.
Try epilating. It has same long lasting effect that waxing has but not as painful and more convenient depends on which one you buy but they come with different heads so you can get rid of under arm hair, leg hair, bikini line, facial hair!
Mine even has a head for shaving! Wow!
Excess of hair (specially in your face) can indicate hormonal problems. Go to a doctor and explain your problem and ask to check your hormones.
If your hormones are good, the problem could be genetic. For that there are the conventional methods but the number of hair and the thickness won't change. If you want to resolve it you should consider definitive methods, one of them its laser.
Waxing is usually the best way to remove hair from any part of the body. Be careful if you are doing it yourself, but for the first few times go to a professional.
If waxing is too scary for you, you can use hair removal cream for the delicate bikini area, I wouldn't recommend shaving this part your body though, it can leave you itchy, with ingrown hairs and regrowth doesn't take long to appear. Use moisturiser after removing hair as the oils in our skin can be stripped away and we all want to have soft smooth legs etc! I usually shave my legs if I dont' have the time or cash for a leg wax, it's easy and can be done quick enough in the shower.
I agree, waxing is way better than shaving - but you don't HAVE to have a brazillian, in fact they aren't so fashionable any more, now the look is more just very neat and trim.
The only way is to use an epilator, a hand held, home use machine that looks a bit like an electric razor, but it rips the hair out by the roots. It's a bit painful at first, but I think they're fab.
Don't do Brazilian. It's so over, and so 80's porn star.
Wax definately as shaving will make it very itchy. And wax it all off. get it done by a pro and it won't even hurt... much!
Theres loads of different ways that suit people differently according to their skin type. I find I can't shave personally as it irritates my skin too much, but if I'm just doing my bikini line I'll use an electric shaver that doesn't go too close but you can't really notice them there, this isn't ideal for intimacy though as it might be a lil prickly! Waxing works best for me, but hair removal cream is also an okay way of doing it.
I agree that using an epilator is the best way!
I have tried a buffer, (The babylis this) and to be honest, it left my legs sore and red.
Yes, epilating does hurt, but its the best thing I have ever done!
And I have tried everything!
waxing is probably your safest bet, you just need to relax and not tense up as it makes it hurt.
roughly the ten days around your period tend to hurt the most but its still not that bad.
take a pain killer half hour before you go as if you find it painful itl take the edge off.
waxing is brilliant compared to shaving as it lasts for a lot longer and you dont have hair poking through within a day.
i get mine done every 5 weeks and its slowly got thinner and less of it is growing back now as well.
if its you upperlip then waxing is the best because it takes a long time to grow back and no stubble. dont use hair removing cream bcuz it leave a ichy red rash and ud rather have hair then a rash lol.
Shaving would solve the problem easily- on a temporary basis. In the short term it is cheap.
I would personally suggest waxing/ sugaring- as I find it lasts longer and is smoother and with time reduces the amount of growth and the distribution. Talk to your local beautician and see what they suggest.
Laser and electrolysis- success really depends on skin type and the hair growth, and normally requires a course of about 10 sessions, which may be painful and are expensive. If you do go down this route go with a qualified service- do your research.
Sugaring can be used to remove hair from any part of the body
2 cups sugar, ¼ cup lemon juice,¼ cup water- Microwave it for 2-3 minutes until it acquires a smooth, thick, syrupy consistency. ALLOW TO COOL.
Dust area to sugar with talc. Using spatula spread in direction of hair growth. Place cotton strip down and remove against hair growth direction.
Practise makes perfect. Sugaring won't always remove darker hair.
I always used conditioner when i shave my bikini (all of it). It makes the hair softer, and easier to get rid of. When you shave, don't shave against the hairgrowth, shave downwards when you start at the top, and shave inwards when you start by the legs. Afterwards, put some aftershave on to further prevent rash, if you don't have, use your boyfriend's or dad's aftershave. It MAY sting a little, but not always.
I've given up shaving now cause no matter what I try I get a rash. I only get on with either waxing or eipliating down there, both don't give me a rash and last longer.
Try a moustache trimmer, the blade is small for a delicate area, it doesn't cause a rash and gives a pretty close shave. Safer than using a razor and comfortabler than an epilator and waxing.
