There are 4 “C”s to look for when evaluating a diamond: the Carat weight (how big it is), the Clarity (it’s quality), the Cut (how close to the ideal shape it is), and the Colour (how close it is to the ideal ultra-white).

Wear a pure white long sleeve shirt whenever you are purchasing a diamond. Put the stone next to your cuff, when you look through the loop you'll be amazed at what you will see.

The average colour and quality of diamonds for sale is H,I,J in colour and SI clarity. Always ask the jeweller what the colour and clarity is, if they dont know DONT BUY! They may not be able to tell you exactly if it's not certificated but they should have an idea. With certificated diamonds you get an independant grading of the stone, which is usually a better quality than average diamonds. Do some research before buying and only buy from a jewellers you trust.
