The healthier way to gain weight is to exercise (mainly lifting weights) and eat properly (specially complex carbon hydrates). By exercising you will feel hungrier (you will eat more) and your muscles will grow. Muscles weights more than fat, so you will gain weight without damaging your health or having problems like cellulite. Also don't gain a serious amount of weight in a small period of time, that can cause stretch marks.

I have been trying for years as I'm petite and a size 6! Everyone told me to do exercise (I used to do NONE for fear of burning off the precious weight I had). But I go to kickboxing twice a week and a) burning that much energy definitely increases your appetite! and b) you get nice and toned and put on a bit of muscle weight, especially on your legs and arms. Mine now resemble limbs rather than sticks and I happily wear skirts! Something I would never have considered before! Hope this helps! Basically, a good diet and something like kickboxing! Don't turn to junk food because that's just unhealthy!

I completely understand, I hate people calling me skinny or size 0, in my opinion its as bad as calling someone fat. Its worth going to the doctors to get a blood test to see if you have an overactive thyroid which basically means you burn off food to quickly. Also look up about the GI diet.

Definitely do exercise, particularly things that build your strength. Women don't have testosterone so don't worry about turning into Popeye, you'll just get more toned muscles which won't hurt anyone.
