My friend found that rubbing olive oil into her bump daily gave a result of ZERO stretch marks 3 monthes after the birth she was on the beach in a bikini!!!
See an aromatherapist and ask them to make you up an oil. They know what works and also what oils are safe to use. I did and had no stretch marks on my tum. Also make sure you do your breasts too i didnt and got stretch marks there!
I put on 15kgs when I was pregnant with my daughter - lost 10kgs as soon as I had her so it was rather rapid weight loss! I am prone to stretch marks but as soon as I found out I was pregnant I drank heaps of water and every day after having a shower/bath, went swimming, I used almond oil infused with lavender and neroli and rubbed it into my stomach thighs, breasts and back. After I had my daughter I kept this up for another 2 months. I never got one single stretch mark! Maybe I was lucky, but I do believe this helped alot.
Bio Oil. I started using it at about 2 months and haven't a single stretch mark. You can use it as a bath oil too and it smells nice. Bit pricey but a little goes a long way!
Neal's Yard do an excellent mother's massage oil. It smell's beautiful. I massaged it into my tummy morning and night with my 2 pregnancies and have not got a single stretch mark. One bottle lasts through the whole pregnancy and you can buy it as part of a gift set too. Remember to keep using it afterwards as well so that you don't get any stretch marks from your skin shrinking.
I use vit E cream and I am due in 29 days with no stretch marks yet (touch wood) bath everyday with a moisturiser, and then apply Vitamine e cream after!!! works a treat!
Find the right stretch mark cream that suits you - bio oil, cocoa butter etc... and get your husband to rub it in every night. Its fun, they are happy to do it (which emans it will get done every night without fail or much prompting), and it gets them involved with the pregnancy. (It also saves you the hassle of trying reach over the bump and bend over, and you get a "bit" of a massage!)
I managed to not get them until the 38th week when baby 'dropped' . But I found massaging Palmers Cocoa Butter in everyday, and drinking lots of water helped.
Tonilastil firming stretch mark cream by Decleor really works. I havent had a child but i got stretchmarks from when as i was a teenager and my weight was constantly up and down. They are now just tiny white lines and they are hardly visible. This cream is not cheap but one tube has lasted me a year and a half.
Lush do a gorgeous massage bar called therapy. Its lavender and neroli and coco butter and works a treat. I have no marks at all and used it since 8 wks pregnant!!
Try breaking open a few capsules of vitamin e and adding it to either coco or shea butter, warm the mixture up in our hands and massage wherever you are worried that you'll get stretch marks or cellulite.
I didn't get any, but I didn't get that big. I understand some women have bigger baby's than others and hold water, but theres a point where it's to do with diet and posture in pregnancy. I always held my tummy muscles taught and held my back up straight when preggers and I think that's partly why my bump didn't get huge and thus stretch the skin. I also applied oil (any oil, even olive) all over my body every day.
There is a fantastic company called 'Innocent Oils' that do an amazing body butter called "Angel Butter", I love it for preventing stretch marks. It's completely natural and safe for use during pregnancies. Plus with it's gorgeous name, it makes a lovely gift for soon-to-be mothers!
It is quite expensive for the amount you get but as every ingredient is chosen specifically to work (no fillers), I can honestly say it lasts ages.
Stretch marks are easy to avoid just keep the skin supple so it can deal with sudden growth. Any moisturiser will work to make the skin softer and more elastic.
