If there’s any kind of grocery story near your hotel, always stock up on soft drinks, alcohol and snacks there instead of raiding the mini bar. And take a little bottle opener with you.

Only eat from the mini bar things you can replace such as mars bars etc. Eat if you have to and then put a DND sign on your room door [to stop staff entering] until you have gone to the supermarket to replace the item.

Just don't open the door!!

Bring your own selection of small snacks and beverages, just don't leave them lying around - put them in your suitcase!
