There's only one way and that is to be your true, confident, full of self-esteem self. Being your true self will attract only those people with whom you have a connection; triggering meaningful friendships built on a basis of truth. If on the other hand we try to force friendships we end up scaring people away. Why? Well, we instinctively know when someone isn't being themselves; we don't know why, but we know and this confusion leads to mistrust. In effect we are telling them that we don't trust ourselves to be ourselves. If we don't trust ourselves, how can we expect them to trust us? Don't pretend or try to force friendships, just be your good self and your true friends will seek you out.

Learn to know what makes you, you. Once you have a good sense of self, backed with confidence and self-esteem, true friends will come flocking. The best way to learn about yourself is to enjoy the process. Think of it as an adventure, with the goal being: to be able to be your one and only self at all times. Try different activities in which you have an interest; not with the intention of finding friends, but with the intention of finding yourself. Life's an education; set your own pace to enjoy the journey.

SOCIALIZE. Make friends and when you've met someone, put the effort to continue. Invite people out, throw parties etc events, you've got to be the one who's everywhere for everyone to want to be there!

Find out about other people! When you're at a party, instead of chatting to the same people, try appraoching others. Ask them a few questions about themselves (people love talking about themselves) and get a conversation rolling!
