tone down the rest of your makeup. preferebly wear nothing else accept the rd lipstick, and keep your clothes subtle.

It's important to find a red that really suits your skin tone. Go to a big makeup counter in a department store (I find MAC is the best) and ask the sales girls for help in finding the best red for you, try on as many as you can face. You may find that a solid red is too much for you - I'm blonde with pale skin and I look like a corpse if I wear it so I wear a sheer red which is a bit glossy - much less scary. Good luck!
