How to de-stress

Meditation will help you relax and rejuvenate, increase your energy, clear your thinking and improve your emotional stability. All you need is a strong desire to improve your life and a willingness to practice simple meditation." Here's how you can take a few moments to meditate while you're at the office, or anytime you're feeling stressed: Find a place to sit comfortably. Let your body relax. Take a deep breath in. As you exhale, say to yourself, "I am calm, serene and relaxed." Repeat this mantra a few times. Let the chatter in your mind gradually fade away, and feel yourself entering a relaxed state. Let each body part release any tension; relax your toes, ankles, knees, hips, stomach, elbows, shoulders, chest, throat, wrists, finger tips, lips, eyes. Enjoy the feeling for a few minutes.

Can't remember where I read it, but found this to be good advice: avoid, alter or accept. You can either avoid the situations that are stressful to you, alter the situations or your part in the situations as they come (if you can) or accept the situation as it is and learn to cope with it (whatever works for you: beating the snot out of something, aromatherapy, meditation, whatever.)

Take Rescue Remedy. You can get it in a spray that fits in your bag so you can take it to work, when you are flying (when I use it most!) and for horrid things like driving tests or exams. You can get it from almost all health stores - once you try it, you'll use it forever!

get some aromatharopy lotion/ showergel/ shampoo/conditoner from bath and body works. there are different scents like sleep, energy, and stress relif (just what your looking for!)

Try boxing. Beat the snot out of your least favorite pillow. If violence doesn't appeal to you, try any really heart pumping cardio. Running and rowing both do it for me. Not only are you working too hard to stay stressed out, but the endorphins these activities create will make you feel better.

I worry ALL THE TIME, have such a short temper and its such a downer. Ive learned not to put myself in situations where I know i will worry - if your friends asks you to do somethnig that you know you will hate.. why say yes just to be polite? make your excuses say no, and then you wont have to worry about it for the next few daays and eventually come up with a believeable excuse. Taking deep breaths, thinking what the wrost thing that could happen is can also help, it puts whatever you are worrying about into perspective. Finally just remember. worrying isnt going to make your problem go away! It wont solve or help anything, so there's really no good in doing it! x Good luck!

This may not be any help or what you'd like to hear but... I do not worry about anything until I know what it is I've got to worry about or until someone tells me 'It's time to worry'! Why worry about stuff that might not happen, that might cause you to miss an opportunity, that someone may say 'no' to you... Life is far too short to waste on worrying about stuff, trust me!! What is the worst that can happen? If its not life and death, then I do not worry about it, whatever 'it' is. Good Luck

What I always do is put on some light music in the bathroom. Fill the tub with HOT water and put any kind of scented soap of bath salts in it and put candles all around and turn the lights off. Then go in and just breathe.

Stand up straight, put your hands at your side, lift them slowly up over your head and stretch as if you are trying to push the ceiling back in place. Then take a deep breath and exhale with a sigh 3 times.

First try some breathing exercises for acute situations like taking in a deep breath holding for 3 seconds and releasing. Take a look at your life and think about some of the things you could change. If you have a stressful job, could you change job, are you being as efficient as you could with your daily tasks. If you have kids, think about ways you could get your partner to help, or offer to take a friend's kids for a couple of hours, in exchange for them doing the same for you. Think little things, and make a real difference to your life. If you are constantly stressed, you need to change things.

I literally 'beat stress' my way of dealing with stress is going to karate on a friday night, nothing quite like taking the weeks frustrations out on a punch bag!!

Meditate twice a day. For five minutes: -just take nice deep breaths -close your eyes -shut of all sound and set the alarm on your phone so you dont keep checking the clock

Colour therapy is wonderful. When I feel stressed I close my eyes and dream up the sun, bright orange. I soon feel calm.
