lavender is also a good relaxation method which will help you to sleep, either in an oil burner before you go to bed, or make up a spray bottle with oil and water and lightly spray over your bed
or you could think about each bodypart in turn and talt about them in your head - its like magic that bodypart seems to feel really relaxed!
(start with your feet and work your way up....
e.g. my feet are tired they have been walking everyware.... right to your brain) and youll feel immobilesed into nothingness...
or u could just count sheep -
This is what i do when i cant sleep and it always works for me...
Pick a subject ie colours, countries ect then start with the letter A and work through the letters, i never get to z as im fast asleep half way through
Try Camomile (sp) tea, Ive found it works but you need to take it for at least three nights before it kicks in. Valerian tablets are another natural remedy. Also if you watch TV use the computer or play computer games you should stop at least 30 mins before bedtime to give your brain a chance to switch off and relax.
Read a chapter of a book to tire your eyes out. You can also rub some Lavender essential oil onto your hand and hold it near your face when you're trying to settle.
I'm usually a pretty good sleeper - it's the getting up that bothers me! - but if I'm feeling anxious for some reason, I'll take a Nytol (not the herbal one, they're rubbish) and they give me a gorgeous, restful nights sleep without making me feel drugged.
try doing a jigsaw before you go to bed. i sleep really badly too and doing this for about half an hour before i try and go to sleep is really working !
