Don't put anything on the burn at all - make sure you run it under the cold tap for at least 10 minutes, time it, and then pat it dry gently or leave it. Don't put anything on it if you can help it, because the more air you get on it the better. You can damage the skin further if you desensitise it with lotions. Anything bigger than a thumb nail size you should go the doctor or A&E to have it checked out if it continues weeping.
Try cold water for 30 seconds then cover it with aloe vera gel. Just make sure that its 100% pure aloe vera gel, the cream and lotions that have other ingredients may irritate the skin or cause stinging.
If you burn yourself slightly with a curling iron or a regular iron as us ladies tend to do sometimes you can either get a treatment like mederma specifically to treat burns at a drug store. Or you can use a simple and cheap stick of cocoa butter that you use several times a day one the burn appears and when it begins to scab and you will see it start to fade!
Many of us have suffered some nasty scars due to burns from curling irons, irons, or other accidents. For minor burns you can use cocoa butter as soon as the burn occurs and use it for about 2 weeks. You will eventually see the burn scab, but still continue use of the cocoa butter as it will disappear shortly! Also, cocoa butter is fairly cheap.
Cool it in water until the initial pain/shock goes away. Then loosely bandage it - not too tightly as this will cause irritation and/or the blister to pop. It just keeps it covered and stops it getting infected. If you're showering try, if you can, to not get it under the hot water as it will irritate it and cause more pain.
don't laugh - but honestly someone suggested to me that for a minor burn (hot oven shelf against the hand or hot iron etc) try HONEY! i followed this advice myself and after smearing the burn with honey the stinging went and it healed really really quickly. natural anticeptic and all that i suppose.
Cold water and a light bandage if indispensable is the best treatment. Never put butter or grease of any sort on a burn, it is an old wife's tale and does more harm than good.
Lavender oil works exceptionally well. burns like sun burn if not too bad: Sudocrem nappy rash cream worked a treat in Lanzarote May 08, burnt shoulders, took 2 days but definitely worked.
Nothing at all, let the air get to it and it will dry out, as when you burn yourself it blisters! Or try sudocrem (nappy rash cream) put it in the fridge so its cold then apply!!
