Don't be afraid to ask. If they don't immediately pounce on you when you're walking through the make-up department (which they often do), have a browse around. Look out for packaging/products you like the look of, and when you do, as the sales assistant for her advice. Tell her your interested in updating your make-up (after all, she's trying to sell a product) but you're not sure what sort of products/colours you're after. She should be happy to advise you, show you how to apply the make-up etc, and you're not commited to buying anything just because she's made you up. Make a note of any products you do like and then you can point them out to friends and family for birthdays and christmas :)
