Dab the area with dry cotton wool and it should pick up even very tiny pieces. It's especially important if you have young children around the house.

Cut off the leg of an old pair of tights and put the foot end into the vacuum cleaner tube. Fasten the other end around the outside of the tube. Hoover up the bits and the glass will collect inside the "sock". Be careful when removing it fom the cleaner as the sharp end will poke through. This of course also works for pins, beads etc - anything you want to collect but prevent from going into the cleaner itself.

Tape. Scotch tape or packing tape works very well. Works well for beads, pins, sequins. Of course, use the sticky side down!
