I suffer from light migraines (one-sided pressure, light sensitivity etc.) during my period. When you start to feel the pressure on one of your temples get yourself a cup of REALLY STRONG coffee or a double espresso and drink it quickly. The pressure should dissapear within a few minutes and you should be fine for the rest of the day.

Ive suffered from Migraines for over 20 years. By chance i read that giving up Wheat and Dairy products might help. Tried it, WHAT a turnaround.I started in March this year, i get a bit of a "headache"during the 'period' time but otherwise i'm free of Migraines. It is hard going but well worth it. Do give it a try!

If a migraine really gets going you can get good relief from Syndol (which is sold over the counter in the UK) - it is the most effective thing I have found for my migraines but it does make you very sleepy. The '4head' sticks are very good too - no drugs, just rub the big chapstick thing all over your forehead and the menthol effect really seems to help.

Eliminating Cheese & Chocolate could do the trick, both are triggers and you may have a sensitivity to just one of them or both. The migrane stick is a good idea but from personal experience its only really successful if you use it early on in your migrane attack

Try to identify your triggers, for some people it is certain foods/drinks for others its stress/periods. Or you may have too much or not enough sleep. Once you know what causes them you can avoid them. I also take a triptan that my gp prescribed and this really helps with the pain.
