you can get blotting paper and it soaks up oil etc in the day and refreshes your make up.
Try a highlighting powder, or go to a makeup counter and ask for some free advice.
I love my foundation, it's easy to apply and perfect colour for me, but I find after a couple of hours it goes cakey and dull. Is there anything I can do or mix with it to make it smooth & dewy?

Mabye your skin is to dry or oily. Go see someone at a beauty counter in say debenhams and ask them for tips.
