Invest in some GHD's, although they are expensive they last for a long time. I have had mine for almost 4 years now and have never looked back. Also try some John Freida Straighening shampoo and conditioner. It works really well. And when you are straighening your hair, separate it into layers straightening a very small layer at a time. :) Good luck.
I use Babyliss straighteners and even though I straighten my hair every day, use serum and hairspray it still sticks out after half an hour. What am I doing wrong?

When you say "stick out," do you mean get curly again? I just found something that has changed my life: It's called Smooth & Protect by Sexy Hair -- you spray it on a section of hair before flat ironing (to "seal" cuticle and resist moisture), and I swear, it makes my 'do last for days!

If you blow dry before you straighten, try starting the process of straightening there first by brushing through with a flat metal backed brush that are designed to be used with a dryer, and drying the hair in the brush as you move it down to help flatten the hair first then finish with straighteners.
