I'm 16 and eat too much sugary food. As a result I have a bit of a fat tummy and problems with my teeth. How can I reduce the cravings (I eat lots of fruit already) and improve my teeth?

To improve your teeth get an electric toothbrush and use a toothpaste like Arm and Hammer, there are so many to choose from. You are young enough to retrain yourself to fight these cravings before your weight gets out of hand, do try to distract yourself when you have a craving, have a drink of water or clean your teeth (as then, sweet stuff does not taste as good).

I totally know where you're coming from! What I've done is I've found healthy things I like (spinach, brocolli, salmon, salted almonds ect.) and I try to eat that instead - not that I don't fall in once in a while.
Find healthy stuff you like and then find (or make your own!) recipes of that in a "snack" form!

Remember that the more sugar and salt filled foods u eat the more u crave. Its everything in moderation I eat chocolate and cake etc when I fancy it which is often enough but have that OR fruit not both and dont take any sugar in tea/coffee, try that if u have it, cut down gradually u get used to it and dont notice the difference after a while. Have breakfast that keeps your sugar levels steady like porridge or anything with low GI! Also wait an hour after eating before brushing your teeth cos if u do it straight away u brush the sugar round your mouth I read. But as for u saying u have a fat stomach your only 16 so u prob find that will go anyway cos i had it and dont anymore but exercise is good for cravings and keeping fat off x

trust me i know exactly what you mean..i have one nasty sweet tooth ;p. what works for me, is if your mom goes to the store, go with her, and if you go, pick out foods you could replace with the sweet foods you love. However, the best way is just to eliminate the foods from the household, then you can't snack on unhealthy things. With that and brushing, i think your teeth should improve.

The likliehood is thta your cravings are in your head not your stomach. I know mine are! :P So the best thing you can do is to get busy and use your hands. You can't knit or play DS (most games) while eating so try those. Do exercise. It'll help your tummy and stop you craving at the same time. If after you do crave something, its better then (in a sensible dose of coruse) because your metabolism is working harder.
